What the PSL test actually measures
The PSL scale grew out of the looksmax community as a shared language for facial aesthetics, where a 1 is sub-average and a perfect 10 is essentially unattainable. Our PSL test reads the same things experienced raters look at — facial symmetry, midface ratio, jawline definition, the eye area, and overall harmony — and turns them into a single, readable score with the reasoning behind it.
The point is not the number. The point is understanding which features carry your face and which ones have headroom, so you can make small, real-world changes with intention.
How to get an accurate PSL test result
Lighting and angle change a PSL score more than people expect. For the most honest read, use a well-lit, front-facing photo with a neutral expression, hair off your forehead, and the camera at roughly eye level. Soft, even light beats harsh overhead light every time.
If you want to compare progress over weeks of looksmaxing, shoot under the same conditions each time. Consistency makes the test useful as a mirror rather than a slot machine.

Will my photo be saved?
In the standard flow your image is processed transiently and then discarded. If you choose Private mode, the analysis runs fully on your device and the photo never leaves your browser.
